Dr. Ingebrikt Christian Holm
Dr. Holms is described as a mountain hotel housing several bars & restaurants. Whether you prefer fine dining, American style dining or are looking for somewhere to meet up for a drink, we offer a variety of seven different food and drink concepts – something for every occasion.
The main restaurant is situated in the hotel´s largest dining room. This is where we serve breakfast to our hotel guest, as well as dinner and lunch for events and other occasions – always with the best local in-season ingredients.
This restaurant is our pride. It is named after the founder of the hotel; Dr. Ingebrigt Christian Holm. This is our gourmet restaurant with a long tradition and history, today serving tasting menus inspired by and adjusted to every season.

Bowl & Dine is a classic American style diner. The combination of homemade burgers, a modern bowling hall and a jukebox creates a good atmosphere. Suitable for everyone regardless of age.

Sportsbar 1909 is for many the natural place to meet at Geilo to watch sports on a large tv screen. Here you can expect cheering and applause directed at the screen while enjoying something tasty from the bar.
Après-ski or after-ski at Dr. Holms is legendary. It is said to be the cradle of (the phenomenon called) after-ski and meetings across generations are not unusual. Live music and a great atmosphere are guaranteed.
The lounge bar is situated at the heart of the hotel. Here you can enjoy a cup of coffee as well as cool refreshments. This is a lovely place to gather before dinner and a perfect place to relax after a day full of outdoor activities in nature.
The elegant and venerable wine cellar has been a venue for tasting and enjoying fine wines for more than 100 years. The wine cellar invites you to experience atmospheric evenings of wine tasting and the possibility of enjoying fine wines accompanied by a tasty meal.
Head chef Tora Skjæveland put Dr. Holms firmly on the map in the 1930s-40s with her sildebord comprising 40 different types of herring as well as rakørret. According to historical sources, Kong Olav was so impressed by the meal that he offered her employment at the Royal Palace.
(Sildebord is a traditional festive meal with herring as the main ingredient. Rakørret is traditionally prepared trout; salted and autolyzed over time and served uncooked).
