Alpine skiing

Geilo is known as one of the best destinations for alpine skiing in Norway with a large variety of slopes near the village centre. The mountain village has a long tradition for making memorable skiing holidays for visitors. You will find slopes of all difficulty – both suitable for families with small kids, and for those who likes to try out the most challenging slopes – the black slopes. By the way – did you know that Dr. Holms was the first one to introduce après-ski at Geilo? You’re welcome to join us! Read more about the different alpine slopes here.

Geilo is the starting point of miles of amazing cross-country skiing tracks. You can pack up for a day’s trip on Hardangervidda, or finishing off the day with a few rounds around the floodlit track at Geilohallen. We can offer a lot of nice family cross- country skiing tracks, like the skiing track around Ustedalsfjorden. This skiing track has information signs placed alongside the track where you can read more about the nature and the culture in this area – both interesting and educational!
